


Ashburnham Place is looking to appoint an experienced, positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated Gardener. A team player, who is able to lead and grow a small team of volunteer gardeners in the care and stewardship of the Gardens at Ashburnham Place.
Ashburnham Place is a Grade 2 listed former stately home in East Sussex and home to the Ashburnham Christian Trust. Our site includes 220 acres of beautiful Capability Brown designed grounds and gardens.
You will be part of the wider Facility Team, with key responsibly for the Ornamental Gardens, looking to introduce regenerative practices to improve biodiversity through strategic planting, whilst keeping the spaces well kept for the enjoyment of our guests.
Our day volunteers play a critical role in the working of the garden. A key component of the role will be looking to expand and lead the existing team.
Candidates should be RHS Level 2 qualified or equivalent. Experience working as part of a gardening team, within a historic house setting would be preferable.
This exciting opportunity provides huge scope to make a lasting positive impression on the Gardens whilst having the support of being part of a larger dynamic team.
The role is part time, 16 hrs a week, with salary dependant on experience.
